Change your thinking

0

It will take just few seconds to read this and change your thinking.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.
One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room’s only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake.Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by.
Although the other man could not hear the band – he could see it in his mind’s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Days, weeks and months passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.
As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window besides the bed.

It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, “Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.”

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations.
Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.
If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can’t buy.
“Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present.”

The Worst or The Best

4

Few days ago, my favorite blogger Ruhi had a severe accident. She wrote a post apologizing her readers(well why?, it wasn’t her fault). How nice of her! I wish she will GET WELL SOON!

I have something to tell you. A memory. Some weeks ago, my love had an accident. A severe, near death accident. The accident which I never witnessed and I thank god for not making me the witness of it. I still feel my hands shake at the very thought.

It’s impossible for me to watch the love of my life being thrown off the vehicle………. headfirst to road……… hitting a cement block by face……… getting up bleeding head to feet…………. unable to stand and falling again and again.

Its quite hard to witness a sweet lovely face….. scratched and blood stained…… the face that always makes me smile……. lurch my heart for a while…….. and always give me reason being alive.

And even after that worst moment, she was the first person who said few words to make me feel better. First time in my life I was feeling like crying and the person persuading me to be calm was the same for whom I was crying.

I don’t know how it feels to miss the death by inches………(and I don’t want to know), but I know how it feels when someone you love misses the claws of death. I still felt a cold chill bringing shivers when someone mentions the accident. What I would have done without her? How could possibly I would have faced……… No, enough.

Just wanted to share my experience. This is not a fiction. Sorry if you are bored by it.

Keep Loving.

Mind-Reading Game Headset to Hit Market????

0

I can’t believe it!! Its amazing. I came across some news article on Discovery news about a headset which can control your computer games by reading your mind.

Here is a quote from article:- “March 7, 2008 — Imagine controlling a video game by thought alone. Two weeks ago at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Emotiv Systems showcased a new device, the Epoc, designed to help you do just that.”

“We can calibrate the algorithm across a wide range of technologies with the same resolution you would get from placing an invasive chip inside the head,” said Le. The system takes as little as six seconds to calibrate itself to a user.

Well, I don’t know why one will need such a device. Because most gaming fans believe in having controls handy. And playing by mind can result being more difficult than playing with hand. Every Gamer is so much used to his joystick or mouse or whatever, he do not need to pay much attention to instruct his hand. I mean if someone is playing War game(e.g., Brothers in Arms) and sees the enemy in range, his hand automatically press the FIRE button. He don’t event blink once to do this. Will this mind reader be able to  identify the  right thoughts at right  time?  Lets wait until its out!!!

May be this gadget will come out as a real super duper hit product. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Look at it, isn’t it cool. Well I am looking forward to have one, but I guess I will have to wait until I can afford $299.

Keeping track of ‘favorite sites’ is much simple…. how?

Just few minutes back, I received a mail from my project manager saying that we will be working this weekend. Seems we are working hard and damn seriously. Well, let it be. Today I just wanted to write about Google Reader. May be lots of people already know it. But still I just want to give an end-user perspective of the thing.

AND IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT RSS OR READER THEN PLEASE CHECK THIS LINK(CLICK HERE) BEFORE CONTINUE READING.

Here is a screen shot of what my reader looks like.

Screenshot for google reader

Basically Google Reader is an Online RSS Feed Reader. You should have read about RSS somewhere. If not, at least you must have seen some icons( e.g., see right pane of my page) which say subscribe to this feed or site or whatever the content.

keeping promises is hard

2

Hey there!! :-)

As I said in introduction, I am going to write now. I am going to write until the world comes to an end. I just need someone to read this. Well no I dont! Control!!!!! I do not need readers!!!! I must Keep telling myself…. okey fine, I will update this post with some stuff related to keeping promises though. So kindly wait until I do write it.

I promised myself that I will write something in my diary everyday. I kept on taking an oath to do this every ‘Happy New Year’. After some years I gave up on me. I promised my dad that I will get best marks ever in my important HSC exam, and still I just managed to get good marks. I promised my mum that I will obey her and definitely marry a girl of HER choice, and still I am love with someone whom my mother never gave a thought even in bad dreams……

These are very simple and common things to be told here, aren’t they? Just try to remember more. You will surely recall yourself doing (in fact not doing) many things you said. Have anyone ever spent a moment thinking over this? Why this happens? Why we fail to complete our small small promises?

I have some answers (I am sure they are run-away-from-fact-you-forgot type):- First and most common thing we do is ‘We don’t consider our word as promise’. If someone asks later, we just say,” Well I just said it, it wasn’t a promise……”.

One of my most important rule of life is,” DO WHAT YOU SAY! AT LEAST TRY YOUR BEST TO DO IT!!”. If you think you can’t stick to this rule then just stop telling people that “I will do this for you, I will do that for you, and blah blah”.

Enough for today!! I must learn to arrange my thoughts in proper format so it will not get boring like this. Did you find anything, at least a bit helpful? Let me know!

Good Morning to MEE

0

Yeah, thats right!! I am saying welcome to me and not to you because I know there is no you but its me. Confused??? Ok let me explain. I thought of starting my own blog long time back. But why I never did it? Because I was fool and I always told myself, “come on man, no one is ever gonna read it”. And I just created few Blogger and WordPress accounts and kept them empty. But now I think differently. I am gonna write and I will not care about who is reading it. At least the person who is my inspiration for this will definitely read. And thats enough for a start.

So Good Morning mee and YOU if you have read this long. I will be writing mostly about my lovely(?) thoughts and if I manage it nicely then may be I will be blogging a bit more seriously.

Lets hope this goes well. Again Best Luck to me. Damn! I am alone here people, isn’t there anybody who will read ME?

To be continued…… but with more nice topic………. may be Love…………. may be not.
